Default Is This Legal // Legit ?

You go into a town you see someone selling their GW account. They make so it seems a very good deal. You see this in alot of towns or outposts.

Now I assume 1, this is against Anet's policy, and 2, it's a scam. I could be wrong.

A guy came up to me out of the blue while I was in Nightfall. Said hey, do you want to buy my GW account as I will never use it again. Claims it was Prof., Factions, Nightfall, and Eotn.

I knew I heard of stories of scammers, password stealers, and all that good stuff and know of it because I have been playing GW for quite sometime.

So I furthure investgate it. I know not to click on sites, and watch for scams like this.

He wanted 150k for the account, now considering some new person of GW prolly would think, thats one hell of a deal to most.

I give you half now, you give me the account, then ill give you the other half.

Not actually going to do it because I knew in fact this is a scam.

He then says, I'll send you an invite to my GH, then from then on, I ingored.

What are your guys thoughts? If its this easy, then what about someone new to GW and how would it affect them?

I see alot of posts where someone wants to buy accounts rather. I know Anet closely monitors this activity, but how does one protect another from such?

So you hand over over the 75k or 150k, get his account...and then the account is perma-banned because someone else in the district saw the "wts account" message and reported it to Anet. Meanwhile, the seller/con-man happily spends the gold on his other account...

To make it simple; 1 - it is against ANet's policy and 2, it is a scam.

Just say no.

The best thing for you to do is to just report the seller.

Rule of thumb (just for anyone asking questions like this): If you ask yourself 'is this legal?' it's probably not.

Though in some cases you can ask around, but with most it's pretty straightforward.

For a start, all 4 campaigns cost around or over $100 depending when purchaced. You really think someone is going to sell that account for 150k?

if someone has all 3 campaigns then the going price is 600k+++

however, it is not legal to sell your accounts ingame and everyone I know that has tried one of these "offers" has found out very quickly that it is a scam

moral of story - don't be tempted and ignore the nub that is trying to buy/sell an account in Spamadan or wherever

If anyone wants another account just go and buy games, make new account and enjoy. Losing everything u done in GW because "good price" in game is ridiculous, do anyone realy wants to take a chance with "selling GW account" type of people ???

Hell no, it aint worth, and considering most of the GW games sold, are not that expensive and pretty cheap.

I think this is in all MMORPG's. I remember seening it WoW when I did play it.

I'm not condoning the sale of accounts, but if you were to wanting to 'sell' your account, you would be best off giving it to a family member, or friend you know well enough, and can beat the piss out of if they try to conn you...

Think about it
if he was really selling you his account
what would he need with the 150k?
where would it go?
